Refund and Returns Policy

At Michigan Myco, our mission is to make mycology research more accessible. We are committed to offering high-quality spores and supplies to enable our customers to maximize their research results. This policy outlines the conditions under which Michigan Myco will process refunds and send replacements for our spores and mycology research supplies. Our primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining the integrity of our products and services.


Our spore syringes and swabs are carefully produced and packaged to ensure they meet the high standards required for mycology research purposes. Due to the nature of mycology research, all spore sales are considered final. We do not accept returns or offer refunds for spores, though we may offer replacements in specific circumstances as outlined below:

Spores Not Viable for Research

We want your mycology research to be successful, so we take reports of non-viable spores very seriously. We do not offer refunds on spores, but we may offer a replacement or substitute if your spores are not viable for your research application. Due to the many variables involved in mycology research, we look at these reports on a case-by-case basis and may request additional details and/or photos to understand the situation. We do guarantee our spores are clean, viable, and high-quality, so we will offer replacements if a report of non-viable spores is deemed credible. The replacement will be offered for free if we are notified within 30 days of delivery. If more than 30 days have passed since delivery, we may offer discounted replacements at our discretion. Whether replacements are free or discounted, customers are responsible for the cost of shipping replacement spores. If the same spores are not immediately available, the customer will have the option to either choose another variety or wait for a suitable replacement.

Spores Damaged in Shipping

If spores are damaged in shipping, we will provide a replacement or substitute at no cost to the customer. We require all shipments to be inspected immediately upon delivery. Damages must be reported to the Customer Support Team within 72 hours of delivery. Please include clear pictures that depict any damage, such as cracks in a syringe.


Unlike spores, our research supplies are eligible for returns and refunds within 30 days of delivery. All returns must be approved by Customer Support, so please reach out to us if you need to return some research supplies. Any supplies returned without express approval will not be refunded. Shipping fees will not be refunded. Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. All returns will be inspected for signs of use or damage before any refund may be issued. Used or damaged supplies will be ineligible for a full refund but may be eligible for a partial refund. Once returns are inspected and approved, a refund will be issued to the original form of payment for the cost of the supplies minus a 10% restocking fee and offset for damages if applicable.


The Customer Support Team is responsible for handling refund and replacement requests, assessing the condition of returned products, and determining eligibility for refunds and replacements. Decisions regarding the eligibility for refunds and replacements are final and are at the discretion of Michigan Myco.

Technical Errors

If a customer is overcharged due to a technical error on our site, we will rectify the overcharge. If we notice an order was overcharged, we may reach out for further clarification. If you think you were overcharged for an order, please reach out to us for clarification.


If you want to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. If the order has not already been dropped off to USPS, we can cancel the order and issue a refund minus a 10% restocking fee. This fee covers the time and fees associated with processing and refunding orders. Once an order is dropped off to USPS, it is no longer eligible for cancellation.

Policy Misuse and Fraud

At its sole discretion, Michigan Myco reserves the right to limit replacements, returns, and refunds if it finds a customer to be misusing these policies or attempting to commit fraud.

Policy Changes

This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our operations or regulations. Michigan Myco reserves the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice.
