Frequently Asked Questions

ALL ACTIVE VARIETIES’ SPORES ARE OFFERED FOR MICROSCOPY PURPOSES ONLY! Any customer found to be using our microscopy supplies for illegal purposes will be banned from placing future orders in compliance with United States law.

Do you have a physical storefront?

There is no physical “Michigan Myco Store”, but we are partnering with local retailers to make our spores more accessible. Check out the Store Locator page to find a retailer near you!

Do you ship spores outside of the United States?

At this point, we only ship spores within the United States, though we hope to open our online store to more regions in the future.

Do you ship spores to California, Georgia, or Idaho?

We cannot ship any active spores to California, Georgia, or Idaho, as these states have specific restrictions on the distribution of Psilocybe Cubensis spores. Michigan Myco complies with all laws and regulations, and all customers are expected to understand their local legislation regarding the research of active varieties.

Why does my spore syringe look clear/empty?

In short: they are not empty, just evenly mixed.

Individual spores are truly microscopic, and we need high-powered microscopes to see them for our studies. Even when a spore syringe looks clear/empty to the naked eye, there are truly hundreds of thousands of tiny spores spread throughout the solution.

It might seem best to have a syringe so full with spores you can’t see through the solution, but that generally leads to a decrease in consistency between experiments. A properly concentrated spore solution will be easier to dilute, mount, count, and examine than one that is overfilled with spores.

In certain conditions, spores may begin to stick together forming visible clumps. This too can lead to reduced research consistency, but there is an easy fix so don’t worry. Simply shake your spore syringe to break up the clumps. This will leave you with an even solution with which to conduct your research.

SOUTHFIELD, MI 48037

If you are still having trouble completing your transaction, please reach out to support@michiganmyco.com and we will gladly help you out.

Have you received my payment?

Once your payment is received, you will receive an automated email from us saying your order is processing. If you are registered for an account on our site, you can check the status of your order any time under the “Orders” section of your “Account” page.

Has my order shipped yet?

Once your order is completed, you will receive an automated email from us letting you know your order has been shipped. That email will include the courier-provided tracking number for your package. You can also find that information from the “Orders” section of your “Account” page.

How long until my supplies arrive?

The only shipping courier we work with is USPS for security purposes.

Our standard/free shipping typically estimates 5-7 business days once the courier picks up the package, though we often see them beat that expectation. If you want to ensure a more speedy delivery, check the “Expedited (1-3 Day)” shipping option during checkout. This will use USPS Priority Mail service which guarantees 1-3 day delivery.

How should I store my spores?

Spore syringes should be stored in the refrigerator. Once you receive your spore syringe from us, store it in the fridge until you are ready to conduct some research. If you have spores left over, recap the syringe and store in the fridge for next time. (Be sure to sterilize the needle-tip with a lighter/torch when you go to re-use that piece!)

How long will my spores last?

Spores will last up to 6 months when stored in the fridge. After that point, you may start to see diminishing results rather than a complete drop-off in research viability.

Do you spawn bags? Agar plates? Etc?

No. We only sell Psilocybe Cubensis spores for research purposes. As such, we do not sell any cultivation supplies.
