Pre-Sterilized Mazatapec Cubensis Spore Syringe for Microscopy
Mazatapec, often misspelled mazapatec, is a landrace of the Psilocybe cubensis family that has been used for spiritual, ritualistic, and medicinal purposes for centuries by the Mazatec people in and around the Sierra Mazateca region of Oaxaca, Mexico. This variety has also been reported to be found in other parts of Central America. If you have heard the story of R. Gordon Wasson and Maria Sabina, you are already familiar with this variety of P. cubensis.
Wasson traveled to Oaxaca and met with Maria Sabina, who administered a traditional mushroom ceremony for him most likely with Mazatapec mushrooms. Mazatapec mycelium is tough and aggressive, making it great for beginner researchers, and its fruits reportedly have a light brown or caramel-colored cap, with a distinctive wavy shape that sets them apart from other strains of cubensis. Mazatapec is a classic cubensis variety that was integral to the broader popularization of magic mushrooms outside of indigenous communities. It is an absolute necessity for any magic mushroom spore collector or researcher, as this gem needs to be preserved for future generations.
